Sorry I havn't been udating recently! I've had a lack of high speed so everything took forever! But, that should all change again now! =D

Here are some pics from the summer, I tried to eat this flower when they were trying to take the pictures. haha! We have a rose bush at our house and there are rarely ever flowers on it because I like to eat them. :)

Dog Jog for the SPCA

So the other day I decided I wanted to go on another expedition. It began when I decided to check out behind the garage, as soon as they noticed me going behind the garage they began calling me and said I apeared to disapear into thin air. Everyone was out looking up and down the road, through the woods and everything... For about 1 and a half hours (while my university human was suppose to be watching the 2 hour episode of Americas Next top model, but this took priority) About and hour and a half later they found me VERY far up the road trying to get into someones house! I was right up on their doorstep, they were rude though and did not answer... Anyway, when someone finally found me they noticed I managed to try and attack a pork-u-pine, or the other way around... They took me home and attempted to take out the quils themselves while they tried to get ahold of a vet that would open in case of emergency. I must say, I did behave pretty well while they were trying to take them out! Eventually they were able to get out about 1/2 of thee quils and they opened my mouth to see about 50 more in there! They decided that they could not do that and would have to for sure take me to the vet. They got ahold of a vet and she went in although it was about 12:00 at night! They put me under so I didn't feel a thing and I was also quite high after... My University human almost passed out at the vet and was very sick to her stomac! Silly her and not liking needles and blood! =D I am now feeling well again and I don't hurt at all. =D

I know I will be with my family! For those of you who did not see Faith's videos from montel and other shows, you won't want to miss this! Nor will those who have seen them! She is amazing!

Update on swimming

One of my humans and her friend took me for a nice walk around a campgroud park yesterday. There was a beach there but it was high tide. However, they decided they would take me near the water anyway. My humans friend was holding onto my leash and I kept trying to pull him closer and closer to the water. My humans now think that maybe I just dont like the rocks or soemthing by our river becasue it mostly consists of crushed rocks. They seem to believe that if thier friend was not holding onto me I may have went into the water... But they wont know until next time they take me and its not high tide! =P

Our camera still will not upload onto our computer by the way. But hopefully by the next post I will be able to put those pictures on from my last post of me trying to swim. =D

Swimming

Ok... It's a little embarassing since I am a hunting dog and all.. but its NOT my fault!! I can't swim...!!

I now live along a beach with my new family and they took me down to the river to see if I knew how to swim. I would not set a foot in the water! Until I was going on some rocks and fell in a little! That was almost a heart attack! =P

Anyway, they took me down to the beach with my cousin who lives down the road because the LOVES to swim! She is a Purebred Chocolate Lab named Sassy, but shes a little over weight! =/ My owners decided the other day that everytime they try and take me to the river to try and get me to swim they will take her aswell, that way maybe she will loose some weight and maybe I will go for a swim with her and catch some sticks... I can't see it though, unless they throw some dog treats in! Maybe I'll go in once it get a little warmer out and I'm sweating to death.

Also, I'll put some pics on here of us swimming soon! the camera just won't put the pics on the computer right now for some odd reason... =/

Me being bad again =D

The other day one of my humans left the door open by mistake. I took up the chance to get outside and go for a stroll. The didnt realize I was gone until one said "So whats Jack doing?" and the other replied "I dunno, I never seen him in a while". They both got up and looked around, I was no where to be found. They searched for about an hour or so until they finally found me down the road. Of course they were happy to see me, until they realized I was sprayed by a skunk!! Man did I ever stink... They took me home and bathed many times, even with special shampoo, but I still stunk for a few days! eeewie!

Two days ago I was outside with the owner who left the door open... and he was over in the "big garage" working or something. Becasue he was quite busy I decided to leave him alone and go for another stroll. He noticed quickly that I was gone and started calling me, he saw me walking into a trail in the woods, and i dissapeared... However! I had my new training collar on (that goes a mile and a 1/2) and because I was so far away that I could no longer hear him, he beeped it and I came back! Thank god for that! No one wants to search for a dog twice in one week! *hehe*

On the bright side of things, my human that is in University is coming home on the weekend for a week to study for exams! And on the 22nd or the 23rd she will be home for the summer! =D

New Pics & This Weekend

Hey!

One of my owners Sarah came home from University for the weekend and she played fetch with me for a super long time outside! I recently learned how to get the ball and bring it back and drop it! Before I would just run and get it and try and eat it until someone took it from me. Hey! I didn't know any different!

My owners did get me a new training collar. Just to let everyone know who red the post on that. It works really well. However, they got one that goes to 100 yards, and we have a really big yard, so they decided they wanted one that went 3/4 of a mile. So they took back the other one and the new one is on order right now. I should probably have it by the weekend. =D I LOVE not being on a leash!! SO much better! I can actually run and play catch now! =D SO EXCITING!

Lazin' around & bein bad

Ok, so, One day my owner left to go to town. She left me at home becasue for once she couldn't take me. She had cooked some gravy and such for supper and she had it out on the counter. I decided to jump up on the counter, knock the HUGE pot of gravy onto the floor and eat it ALL. Although I'm not suppose to eat anything except my diet food. However, my owner came home and saw the pot on the ground, and I got a pretty big growling.

March Break & Training Collar?

March break is quickly approaching! Its next week! One of my owners are coming home from university tomorrow! I'm pretty pumped! She plays with me for hours! Shes the one that actually found me at the SPCA and volunteered there so she could go and see me a alot. She is so good to me! This is a picture of me and her about to go outside to play in the snow! What a fun time!
My owners are trying to find me a training collar. They want this so that in the summer, they can take me to the beach and such and not worry about me running and they won't have to keep me on a leash while I'm trying to swim! That would be annoying! I was wondering if anyone might have one (if so, what kind and how much did it cost?) and would know how well they work and if they actually hurt dogs? Becasue God knows my owners DO NOT want that! They heard it is just like a static shock aslong as you dont put it up full blast! Any suggestions? Any reasons why they shouldn't get one, cuz I LOVE to run around outside and I can't do that becasue my owners are scared I'll run away... I need to be trained to stay near them because I'm not used to having a family to stay near.

I found this pic from before I was adopted. I was so sad sitting in the SPCA all the time... for so long.. =( Note the color of my coat then (the first few days I was there) and then look at the more recent pics of me and see the color of it now! About 4 months later! Wow!

Hello!

My name is Jack and I'm a German Shorthaired Pointer. I was adoped from the SPCA in Fredericton at the beginning of January and my owners just adore me! I was near death when the SPCA found me and they nursed me back to health, and I'm doing ok now. I'm putting on some weight. I'm on a special diet of Gastro Dry food, 1 tsp of pumpkin and 2-3 Pepto Bismol tablets a day.

I am a very well tempered dog. However I get myself into alot of trouble since I'm not used to having a family.

My owners arnt too sure how old I am but they assume probably 7. I'm not going to tell them any different. ;)

I love to chew on things, aspecially my owners dish cloths! She has to buy new ones alot... hehe. I love going for walks but I'm not used to having somone on the end of a leash so I pull pretty hard. I'll learn to slow down some eventually... I still pee in the house sometimes(not very often), but my owners are very patient with me becasue they know I'm not used to a home. I love being brushed and I especially love all the attention I get at my new home!

Here are some pictures of me on my way to my 1'st home! As you can see my nose is a bit dry, but thats nothing some vit A can't fix! My owners put it on me like 100 times a day! haha
